The secrets to a great family camping trip
March 18, 2011
The number one secret is flexibility. It is good to make plans but the fun part about camping is adventure. All members of your family remember the camping trip for years to come.
Some of my fondest memories of childhood were family camping trips and campouts with my Boy Scout Troop. I look back to those times with fondness. I hope to instill the love of the outdoors with my young sons.
A lot of the issues families face could easily be averted if the spent more quality of time together. As I get older I realize the importance of sharing my love and respect for our earth.
Camping is a great way to build bonds and teach life’s great lessons. The world we live in is an awesome world to explore. There is not any better way to explore it than while camping.
One of the best things about camping is it is extremely affordable. You do not need any expensive gear. Of course you could spend as much money on camping gear. But if you look around your town at yard sales and second hand stores you will find just about everything you could need.
Camping is a great way to get back to the basics. When you go camping turn off your cell phones, lap tops, iPods, and all other electronics.
Let Mother Nature provide the entertainment. Do not forget the smores. Check out Family Camping Blog for great tips to make your next trip a great camping adventure.

ATV Camping
December 10, 2010
If you enjoy primitive tent camping at an uncrowded campsite in the back country and riding ATVs, then you are going to love ATV camping. ATV camping is where you load up your ATV with your camping gear and supplies and head out to the back country.
You can find some really remote campsites on an ATV that are not accessible by full-size vehicles and would take too long to reach by foot. Plus it is fun getting there because a good utility 4×4 ATV can cover rough terrain quickly and easily.
Most utility 4×4 ATVs can easily carry 100lbs or more of camping gear and supplies which enables you to camp more comfortably than backpacking allows. Also, since you can get to the campsite quicker you have more time to do the things we enjoy most about primitive camping in the back country.
Because you are going to be in the back country you will want an ATV equipped with the proper ATV Accessories. Accessories like an ATV winch, ATV luggage, suspension upgrades (to handle the increased load) and tools in case of a possible break down.
You will want lightweight camping gear such as a tent, sleeping bag, cookware and furniture. After you have been ATV Camping a couple of times you will understand how to load your ATV efficiently and securely. It is important to note the ATV will handle differently with the extra weight so exercise caution until you become accustomed to the difference.
So get out and enjoy primitive camping at an uncrowded back country campsite like you never expected. ATV camping will get you there easily so you can enjoy the outdoors and nature in all of its splendor.
